From the visionary writer/director behind RUSHMORE and
THE ROYAL TENNENBAOUMS comes a new comedy about
internationally famous oceanographer Steve Zissou
(Bill Murray) and his crew -- Team Zissou -- who set
sail on an expedition to hunt down the mysterious,
elusive, possibly non-existant Jaguar Shark that
killed Zissou's partner during the documentary filming
of their latest adventure. They are joined on their
voyage by a young airline co-pilot who may or may not
be Zissou's son (Owen Wilson), a beautiful journalist
(Cate Blanchett) assigned to write a profile of
Zissou, and Zissou's estranged wife and co-producer,
Eleanor (Anjelica Huston). They face overwhelming
complications including pirates, kidnapping, and
bankruptcy.

Gary K. Ostrander, Ph.D., Associate Provost for
Research at the Johns Hopkins University Medical
Institutions, will be on hand to discuss the THE LIFE
AQUATIC at Cinema Sundays at the Charles on Sun 12/12
at 10:30 am.

Dr. Ostrander heads a lab currently researching
aspects of coral biology related to the development of
cancer. This lab is further working to establish cell
lines to be used as a standard in coral cancer-biology
research. Dr. Ostrander has worked previously with
the Caribbean Reef Monitoring Project (CARICOMP) of
The United Nations Environmental, Scientific, and
Cultural Organization, Earthwatch, and the University
of Guam Marine Laboratory on various projects
associated with coral reef biology and preservation.
In the course of this research, Dr. Ostrander has
amassed an extensive collection of underwater photography.
