Charlize Theron & Christina Ricci star in MONSTER (2003), US, 111 min. written and directed by Patty Jenkins
Entertainment Weekly's Owen Gleiberman praises the lead performance,"In MONSTER Theron undergoes one of the most startling transformations in the history of movies."
In a revelatory performance, Charlize Theron stars in the shocking and moving true-life story of Aileen Wuornos, a prostitute executed last year in Florida after being convicted of murdering six men. While Wuornos confessed to the six murders, including a policeman, she claimed to have killed only in self-defense, resisting violent assaults while working as a prostitute.
Charlize Theron has already been nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Actress Category, and is an early odds-on favorite for an Academy Award nomination.
